My birthday (yesterday) went really well and I am so grateful for all the friends that helped me celebrate it here. Two of my friends made me a cake and then we went to the on-campus pub after. I realized I haven't really talked about my classes yet so I would explain them. I am taking Australian Studies, which is a typical class for international students. The second class period we watched the movie Crocodile Dundy because it is one of the most popular movies about Australia. We plan on taking four trips to different places around Perth and our first one is to an art museum. It will be fun exploring Perth and Fremantle for a class. I am taking Marketing 100 which is equivalent to the Intro to Marketing class at UMD. The lecturer is from America and I introduced myself to her and we chatted a little. She said I am going to laugh when it is winter here because everybody will think it is so cold and I will still be in shorts! We have one big project about a certain product. Everybody is doing a type of perfume but we all have different brands. It will be fun researching about the brand and their marketing efforts. My third class is Engaging Media and focuses mainly on how we interact with media. We have a main project where we have to take something and change the form of media without changing the content. I haven't decided what I am going to change yet so I will have to brainstorm about that. My last class is Psychology: Sexual Attitudes and Values. It focuses on sexual abuse, sex trafficking, gender and how people are affected by these topics. We have a main project where we need to research a certain topic but I have not chosen mine yet. So far classes are going well and I am really interested in all my topics!
