I really liked Josh’s sound poem. It starts out in a somewhat normal fashion, and really kicks off. The visual that I imagined while listening to it was one of time travel. Since we were in the same sound recording group, I recognized all the conversations that were had during the sound clip. However it was almost alien like, maybe like it would be if I went through a black hole. Although I could hear the conversations, they were distorted and changed. There were also other odd sounds thrown into the piece, which gave the whole thing a very surreal feeling. I’ll say that it was a very trippy sound, and it reminded me of almost a dream state, with the altered speeds, pitches, and lengths of the voices. Every now and then it was like the dream feeling was almost stopping, because things would go back to normal sounding, but then it wasn’t long before it was getting trippy again. For a while I felt like I was in the rainforest with the whistling clip. Near the end of the quick it feels like you have woken from the dream, because things were back to normal. However, a couple of sounds were still slightly distorted, which made me wonder if things were normal or if it was still dream state. All in all I felt kind of like I was in the movie Inception.
