The reporter crafted the news story around certain points which would seem newsworthy to the public. In this case he picked budget cuts and unemployment which are two huge issues Walker discusses in the speech. Also, the reporter only gives a small excerpt of what Walker is actually saying and goes into further detail on his stance and beliefs when it comes to the budget. The news story is not bias in any way and states what Walker will be doing to change the budget in Wisconsin.

Marshall was charged with assault after allegedly having an altercation outside a fast-food outlet in Sydney's CBD early Saturday morning, The Sydney Morning Herald said.
The National Rugby League star Benji Marshall is affiliated with the Wests Tigers team, The Sydney Morning Herald said.
The fight was said to have been about certain racial slurs a group of men were saying to Marshal, ABC said.
"Players are not always in the wrong but incidents such as these will always demand close scrutiny by the game and the public," NRL chief David Gallop said.

1,300 ash trees are being removed in St. Paul, Minn. beginning Monday.

St. Paul officials are removing the trees to help fight against the emerald ash borer, which has killed millions of trees in the area, MSNBC said.
The St. Paul Parks and Recreation department will be taking down trees on the cities east side, authorities said.
In 2009 the green, beetle-like pest was found in the neighborhood and has been infecting trees all over the city, The Pioneer Press said.
Trees that are in the St. Anthony Park neighborhood with be treated with pesticides to slow the progression of the beetles damage, The Pioneer Press said.

A bank robber hit another TCF on Thursday in Fridley, Minn. following three other bank robberies.

The man has been suspected of three other robberies at local TCF bank branches in St. Paul and St. Anthony, MSNBC said.
The robber was carrying a handgun and asked everyone inside the bank to get down as he attempted to rob three different tellers, authorities said.
"Three in a week is not common," FBI spokesman Steve Warfield said. "This guy is on a binge for sure."
No injuries have been reported for this one or any of the other robberies, The Star Tribune said.

Injection wells were shut down in Arkansas on Friday pending earthquake activity.

The two wells used by natural gas-drilling companies closed operations Friday due to new research which announced the activity at the injection sites could cause larger earthquakes than expected, The Commercial Appeal said.
A new fault was discovered near the Faulkner County wells where the inject drilling waste is big enough to make an earthquake with a 6.0 magnitude, research scientist with the Center for Earthquake Research and Information Stephen Horton said.
Thousands of earthquakes have been reported in north-central Arkansas beginning in the fall , The New York Times said.
The two wells will remain closed until evidence is presented at a hearing of the Oil and Gas Commission at the end of the month, authorities said.

Jared L. Loughner faced 49 Counts on Friday for the Tuscson shootings.

The federal charges linked to Loughner were murdering two government officials, causing the deaths of four others and the attempted murder of Senator Gabrielle Giffords along with other government aids and firearm charges, The New York Times said.
After the shootings Loughner was only charged for the murders committed but after further investigation they found information regarding victims who were not federal officials became useful in the trial, authorities said.
"Those citizens who were peaceably assembled to speak to their Member of Congress are also named victims in this indictment," U.S. Attorney Dennis K. Burke said.
The incident makes it clear that federal prosecutors are looking into the death penalty for this case, NPR said.

The Sydney Morning Herald and ABC

Both news organizations use multimedia to portray the news in different ways. They both have similar links to pictures, slide shows, breaking news and also video's. The SMH is set up in a more newspaper flow having breaking news and then local, while ABC is set up more as a website only view with more global news casts. The pictures and video's definitely compliment the news because it gives the reader a visual aspect of what it going on. Also the writing style for these are simplistic letting the media speak for itself, especially if it is a video.

A gas bottle exploded and set fire to a nearby tent at the Point Plomer camp site, The Sydney Morning Heraldd said.
Cameron Wiseman, 5, was hospitalized for serious burns. He was asleep in his sleeping bag when the accident happened, authorities said.
Overall, seven people were seriously injured and the cause of the explosion is still under investigation, ABC said.
"This could be a prolonged investigation depending on the injuries of those down in Sydney and obviously the lengthy recovery for a number of them," Inspector John Sullivan said.

A college student was arraigned Friday in attempted terrorist attacks.

Khalid Aldawsari, 20, was being arraigned in Texas Friday morning for creating a plot to carry out terrorist attacks inside the United States, The New York Times said.
The Saudi student was charged with with the attempted use of a weapon of mass destruction, authorities said.
Aldawsari purchased explosive chemicals over the internet which he was planning on using to blow up dams, nuclear plants or the former Dallas home of President George W. Bush, The Blaze said.
The FBI was tipped off to his purchases by the online retailer and after investigating his files found diary entries and terrorist posts, authorities said.

A couple and their ship crew were murdered by pirates on Tuesday after their yacht was hijacked.

Native Californian's Jean and Scott Adams built a 58-foot yacht called the Quest and went to sea after their retirement in 2004, The New York Times said.
The Adams and the ship crew, Phyllis Macay and Robert A. Riggle of Seattle, were hijacked and taken hostage off of the coast of Somalia on Friday, authorities said.
Four U.S. warships and sky-high drones followed the yachts movement and used radio's to negotiate the hostage situation, CBS said.
On Tuesday a rocket-propelled grenade was launched from the Quest at one of the naval ships and missed, authorities said.
After the grenade missed, small weapons fire was heard coming from the Quest when the U.S. crew went on board the yacht, CBS said.

Twin's catcher Joe Mauer recieved an injection in his knee on Wednesday.

Mauer was injected with Supartz which lubricated and cushioned his knee joints, The Star Tribune said.
The injection was needed as a follow-up procedure after he had arthroscopic knee surgery in the offseason, The Star Tribune said.
"It's pretty common among athletes," Mauer said. "I don't think it's really that big of deal."
Before the teams first full workout on Wednesday Mauer have to have more injections to make sure his knee isn't a problem, News-Press said.

The death of two elderly people in southern Minnesota is still under investigation.

In the town of Truman, Minn. police are still investigating the deaths of two elderly people found on Tuesday, The Star Tribune said.
Police went to the deceased's home after family members started to question there well-being, authorities said.
The officer's found the two bodies when they entered the residence, The Mankato Free Press said.
Both bodies were sent to the Ramsey County Medical Examiners office to determine the cause of death, authorities said.

When the article was first released the leads were a little different, they didn't mention the boy as being 14 until the updated version. The main news was summarized through police reports and through the communities awareness and support for the search. Another main difference from the first story was the overall facts of the search, stating that they would call it off and resume early Monday. This story was also run by the Sydney Morning Herald and it seems to have a better insight into the event (in the ABC News version) especially showing more quotes.

A 14 year old boy was taken by a crocodile Saterday while playing with his brothers.

The boys were playing near a remote creek in the Northern Territory community of Milingimbi Island when the crocodile attacked, The Sydney Morning Herald said.
A search has been conducted in the creek and through out the surrounding area, but there has been no sign of the boy, authorities said.
The boy could still be found alive, Senior Sergeant Craig Ryan said
"He may have simply been caught in the tidal out-wash from the creek and he might well and truly be alive," Ryan said.

Two Girl Scouts selling cookies witnessed an attempted bank robbery in Minnetonka.

A woman and her two daughters were selling Girl Scout cookies in front of a TCF Bank on Friday when a man walked in and tried to rob it, The Star Tribune said.
The man stood in line and told the teller to give him all of her 50's and 100's, authorities said.
After the teller walked away with out giving him the money the man left the bank, The Grand Forks Herald said.
None of the witnesses saw a weapon and described the man as being about 35 years old, about 250 pounds, 6 foot 2, with brown hair and brown eyes, authorities said.
