Mayo takes patent case to U.S. Supreme Court

The Star Tribune reports that the Mayo Clinic is headed to the U.S. Supreme Court to resolve a blood testing patent suit.

A California medical laboratory, named Prometheus, filed the injunction against Mayo claiming that Mayo's need blood test is a copy of their scientific idea.

The Wall Street Journal says that leading medical groups argue that no one institution should have exclusive rights to tests that can help the medical field as a whole for revenue based reasons.
