Kim Alswager is a current sophomore at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. She is pursuing a degree in music education with an emphasis on voice. Her musical training is mostly classical, but she has had four years of hip-hop dance training. She is very excited to learn about music that is outside of her comfort zone and how it can influence and be used in music education. Her main focus on this project will be "misogyny, materialism, and mayhem," dealing with issues of women, wealth, and violence in hip-hop music, both its criticisms and defenses.
