Last night I felt chilled, so I took my temp (to make sure I wasn't getting sick.... the old fever/chills combo). My temp was 97.9, so I actually was chilled. I immediately (for other reasons) took my "normal length, normal temperature" shower and when I got out, I was 98.5.... I was amazed that I could raise my body temperature so quickly. (And I also wonder how much it increases if I start out at 98.6.)
I also made sure NOT to drink any of the hot water coming out of the shower head (because I figured that would heat up my mouth extra fast). I started to wonder is it normal to drink shower water? I guess I have no problem doing it... and I had to consciously stop myself... As George Costanza yelled, "It's all pipes!"

Plus for an accurate measurement of body temp, measure it five times and average them. One measurement is really insuffcient.
Glad you are warming up!
Posted by: Underblog at December 19, 2005 09:42 AMMy daughter and I both sometimes brush our teeth in the shower, with hot water, we don't drink the stuff but we do rinse our mouths with it and then spit it out. Bro Blog probably would find this practise abhorrant.
