Dr. Stephen Swanson, CLA alumnus and physician in pediatric international health, will discuss his career path, share lessons he has learned, provide advice for students, and summarize the challenges and rewards of working in global health at this Magraw-Fuller lunchtime lecture.
Dr. Swanson is a board certified pediatrician trained in infectious diseases and tropical medicine. Before attending college, he traveled to the Philippines and India to volunteer at orphanages including working with Sisters of Charity (Mother Teresa). Later, as a student at Harvard Medical School, Dr. Swanson went to Rwanda to care for refugees during the genocide crisis.
