3 Shows

The 3 Televisions shows I watched were: The Simpsons, American Gladiators, and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno

The Simpsons 2-17-08 on FOX Sundays at 7:00pm

In this episode of The SImpsons, Homer celebrates Valentine's Day by taking Marge on the Tunnel of Love ride at the carnival. Once getting stuck on the ride, Homer tells tales of romance as seen in the style of three films, Bonnie and Clyde, Lady and the Tramp, and Sid and Nancy. I have always loved The Simpsons. It is an American classic and is brilliant in it's writing, humor, and social commentary. However, I feel the episodes haven't been quite as well written these past few years. This episode was pretty good, I laughed a couple times, but I still believe the show just doesn't have the same special something that made it the classic it is today.

American Gladiators - varying night and time on FOX

This was the season episode of American Gladiators. I watched all the previous episodes, despite the cheesiness of the show. I like the competitive nature of the show as well as the nostalgic feelings it brings, reminding me of watching it as a kid. I like how the men and women in the show are both expected to complete the same obstacles and competitions. I don't like how much talking and interviewing is going on in the show. Boring!

The Tonight Show 2-20-08 on Weeknights on NBC at 10:35 pm

I like the current events discussed in the monologue, because it's a quick and easy way to catch up on the news. However, Jay's jokes are usually pretty lame, and immature. A lot of the jokes were sexist towards women, especially their appearance (i.e. Kirstie Alley's weight, Hilary Clinton being butch) Overall, comedic jabs are taken at celebrities, male and female, however most of the jokes about the women mentioned their appearance and used other female stereotypes. I don't particularly like this show, but I watch it because it's on.
