Scrubs, Sex, and the Office

Scrubs (Season 6 Episode 12) “My Fishbowl” Original air date: 3/8/2007
When Private Dancer is released from the hospital, the military informs him that his injuries are too severe to be reinstated into the service, so he gets depressed. The Sacred Heart staff try to cheer him up, while the Janitor is having a fish problem.
Likes:
-As always, this show is hilarious
-Mocks female/male stereotypes by reversing roles
-Carla holds a strong self-confidence through out the episode despite Dr. Cox
-Serious life issues are portrayed
Dislikes:
-Black stereotypes  Snoop Dogg and Turk wears large clock around neck
-Serious issues are handled with humor

Sex & The City (Season 4 Episode 12) “Just Say Yes” Original air date: 8/12/2001
Carrie finds out that her building is going co-op and she has to move. Aidan offers to buy her apartment and move in with her. Carrie also discovers Aidan is planning on proposing and realizes she is not ready for marriage. Samantha joins the mile-high club with Richard and Miranda tells Steve that she is carrying his baby. Charlotte and Trey continue to struggle for a baby of their own.
Likes:
-Portrays real life issues  buying apartment, moving in together, marriage/child problems
-Samantha, as always, is portrayed as a strong, independent woman
-Carrie, like most people, questions the future
Dislikes:
-Charlotte gives off her usual ditzy/whiney vibe
-Carrie’s disgust for marriage
-Richard’s assumption that Samantha is experiencing “female troubles”
-Richard’s quote “who needs a wife when you have a life”
-Carrie lets a bigger/better ring distract her from the idea that she doesn’t want to get married

The Office (Season 1 Episode 2) “Diversity Day” Original air date: 3/29/2005
A consultant arrives to teach the staff about tolerance and diversity but Michael insists on imparting his own knowledge. Meanwhile, Jim struggles to keep hold of a lucrative contract extension.
Likes:
-They acknowledge the need for diversity and celebrate it
-Employees confront offensive behavior in the work place
-It shows how people can be completely ignorant to their actions
Dislikes:
-Michael acts as if he expects a pat on the back for acknowledging diversity
-Michael is actually really obnoxious and not funny at all
-Michael ironically accuses someone of being “defensive and lame”
-Person of minority is referred to as a number
-And of course women are referenced as bad drivers
