TV Shows

So, a few shows that I have watched recently:

Nip Tuck - Season Finale on 2/19 at 9pm on FX.
Likes: I started watching this show a few seasons ago and have always been fascinated at how far they go & what they show. This show was the season finale and had all sorts of crazy things going on. There was a brother & sister in or trying to stop an incest relationship, mother was poisoned & shot w/ retrograde amnesia, surgeon with a stalker who stabbed him, etc. It is far fetched but I've always liked how crazy the plastic surgeries look (actually show gross depiction of the surgeries instead of just skipping to the "after" transformation). This show seems to entertain me w/ various adult topics that they bring up that are not usually brought up on other tv shows.
Dislikes: I think this show gets so far fetched at times that it is not really a "relatable" show. Often times it is very focused on outer beauty while many of the characters are pretty screwed up in the head. There are a lot of casual encounters/one night stands & vanity.

Breaking Bad - Sunday 2/17 8pmon AMC
Likes: I think this is another show that is somewhat unconventional w/ unique topics. It doesn’t show picture perfect lifestyles or homes. This one has a science teacher who has mentally disabled son, a pregnant wife and learns he is dying. He starts cooking meth and distributing through a previous student to help family finances. It has twisted motivations and conflicts that the characters go through that are entertaining to watch. I think it has a more accurate portrayal of drug use, internal conflicts, average income homes and death.
Dislikes: This is another one that gets far fetched. The main character who is typically a push over becomes aggressive, kills someone & becomes vengeful after learning that he is dying.

The Biggest Loser – 2/17 Tuesday 7pm on NBC

Likes: When I first saw the commercial for this show, I thought it was going to be humiliation or humor aimed at obesity. But, after watching it, I like how the show really does change people's lives and it’s done pretty tastefully and also somewhat educational w/ nutrition and workout tips. The show seems to focus more on getting healthy as the motivation for losing weight versus trying to obtain beauty by social standards. This episode was just a continuation of the challenges.
Dislikes: In the same sense of the competition, I don’t like when they go to weigh in (and have to make certain numbers) and they have lost weight and it is not regarded as an accomplishment if it is not enough weight to beat the other team.
