The first thing I noticed when I went to urbancougar.com was that there was an advertisement for some product that is similar to botox, some age defying cream. It is interesting that these women have "overcome the sexual stigma of older women having sex" but are still targeted by age defying products. You'd think they would strive not to have advertisements like that on their website because it perpetuates the stereotype that they are old and that is something they need to "fix." I also noticed that a lot of the pictures that were up didn't look like very old women, most of them seem to be in their 40's maybe. There are no pictures of actually old women. I also found it interesting that they kept talking about younger men as their prey, as if the only way they would be able to have sex with them is if they hunted them down. cougared.com talked about how not all cougars need to have money to be a cougar. I found this interesting that this stereotype is prevalent and it reminds me of sugar daddies. I couldn't find anything about the defunct age of love on nbc.com. Did anyone else have troubles finding that?
