CCLC PEER ADVISOR POSITIONS AVAILABLE

The Career and Community Learning Center (CCLC) is looking for three motivated student to fill the Peer Advisor position in 345 Fraser Hall. One of the positions will start in June with some training in May and the remaining two positions will begin in mid-August. All three positions offer 10-20 hours per week. The Peer Advisors are responsible for advising students on volunteer opportunities in the Twin Cities and advising Community Engagement Scholars students. They are also maintain regular communication with community organizations and update volunteer information. Peer Advisors are responsible for the marketing and recruiting of students through class presentations, tabling and special events and work closely with professional staff on special projects and the growth of civic engagement at the University of Minnesota. SUMMER INTERSHIP POSITIONS AVAILABLE IN NYC

Harlem RBI (Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities) is a private, non-profit organization located in East Harlem, New York. Its mission is to use baseball, softball, and the power of teams to provide inner city youth with opportunities to play, to learn and to grow, inspiring them to recognize their potential and realize their dreams. Harlem RBI is seeking dynamic, motivated individuals to serve as interns in an innovative summer program for 9-12 year-old youth in East Harlem, New York City. Harlem RBI’s summer REAL Kids (Reading and Enrichment Academy for Learning) program provides youth with a full day of educational, enrichment, and baseball activities, designed to foster a positive and supportive learning environment.

BRIDGE TO ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE SEEKS PEER MENTORS

The Bridge to Academic Excellence (BAE) Program seeks Peer Mentors. The BAE Program is for new freshmen students at the University of Minnesota. Program participants will be students from diverse backgrounds who have little or no family college-attendance history. It begins with a six-week intensive academic component in June, 2007 and continues through the fall and spring 2007-08. Academic and social activities will help ensure student success at the University of Minnesota. A Peer Mentor provides leadership and models positive behavior for new students.

SOAR Career Solutions Internship Opportunity

SOAR Career Solutions of Duluth has an intern opportunity availabe for a student working towards completeing a Bachelor or Master's degree in the area of Criminology, Sociology, Social Work, Criminal Justice, or other related fields. Interns will be working directly with the Community Offender Re-Entry Program (CORP). CORP is a collaborative between SOAR , Men as Peacemakers, Lake Superior College, and Arrowhead Regional Corrections (Northeast Regional Corrections Center (NERCC)).
