Manziel wins Heisman

Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel won the 2012 Heisman Trophy on Saturday. He beat out Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te'o and Kansas State quarterback Collin Klein for the award.

CNN reported that Manziel was the first freshman to win the trophy.

Sports Illustrated reported that Manziel won 474 first-place votes. Teo was second with 321; Klein had 60.

Manziel led the Aggies to a win over then-No. 1 Alabama in November. The Aggies will be playing Oklahoma in the Cotton Bowl after finishing with a 10-2 record.
