Kamehameha Statue

I found my visual argument on the Honolulu Advertiser's website, which is one of Hawaii’s newspapers. The picture shows the famous King Kamehameha the Great statue covered in leis with his hand outstretched holding a champagne glass. This image was digitally altered by a Miami cruise ship company who wanted to promote tours to Hawaii. The message it sends to people who see it is that Hawaii is a place to go to for good times and relaxation. However, the image has insulted the Hawaiian people, the Hawaiian culture and the significance of a great King.
