Genocide of the Hmong

We've all read about genocide in history books in other parts of the world. However, it still happens today. My research paper is about the genocide of Hmong people in the jungles of Laos. Not a lot of people know who Hmong people are. The Hmong people helped the U.S. during the Vietnam War, and when the U.S. lost, there were a lot of Hmong people still left behind. When the communists took over, those that fought against the communists and helped the U.S. during the war would be killed off. Therefore, most of the Hmong feared for their lives and fled into the jungles. This is a topic that a lot of the Hmong communities know about, but can only do so little about it. Without the help of local communities or politicians banding together to end the killing of Hmong people in another part of the world, this already diminishing race will die off shortly and silently. I want to target this topic towards the local St. Paul community, voters and the politicians. So far, I have searched for resources in articles, journals, and books at the library. I'm planning to interview the director of the Center for Hmong Studies at Concordia University, and I'm going to look into local organizations that are involved in this issue already. If you guys have any ideas of where I can look for more resources or how to improve on my topic, let me know. Thanks
