According to the Washington Post and ABC News, a boy around the age of 3 died after falling into a wild dog exhibit at the Pittsburgh zoo on Sunday.
It is unclear whether the boy died from the 14-foot fall or the attacks from the wild dogs. He was pronounced dead by the time the EMTs got to him.
Zoo workers tried scaring the dogs away from the boy by shooting at them, but they did not respond to the shots right away and continued to maul the boy.
The victim was at the zoo with his mom and family friends at the time of the attack. The zoo is closed until further notice.
