They also struck 2 buildings nearby used by journalists. This is the most serious attack that has occurred since the fighting began Wednesday.

US student stabbed by roommate in Rome

According to the Washington Post and NBC News, a 19-year-old New Jersey student was stabbed by his roommate in Rome on Thursday morning after a night of Halloween partying.

Fabio Malpeso drank alcohol and took drugs on Halloween night and does not have any recollection of the events. Malpeso was in critical condition after the events and underwent surgery to stab wounds in his lungs and other parts of his body.

The suspect, Reid Alexander Schepis, attended John Cabot University with Malpeso and was a friend of his prior to studying in Rome. Their parents were also friends.

According to Schepis, Malpeso took drugs against his will. Schepis does not recall any of these events either. A third man, the boyfriend of Malpeso's sister, also suffered injuries while trying to defend Malpeso.

According to the Washington Post, 4 people were injured and 21 were detained during protests against plans for a gold mine in Northern Greece on Sunday.

According to police, one of the injured people was a police officer, while the other 3 injured and 21 detained were protesters.

Similar events have happened in the past when a multimillion dollar project got shut down due to protests in a nearby area about a decade ago.

Many protesters are against the mining for environmental issues, but advocates claim that the gold mine will create jobs and help the economy.

16 killed in suicide bombing in Pakistan

According to the New York Times, 16 were killed and 15 were injured in a suicide attack in Pakistan on Saturday.

Government official Azam Khan said that the vehicle explosion killed mostly local Afridi tribesmen.
