Graduate Student Services office welcomes new staff

Brittany Schmaling joins the Graduate Student Services office as the full-time receptionist. She worked in the office as a student last year, and she will stay on in this permanent position. Brittany will receive her B.A. in psychology from the University of Minnesota next month.

Katherine Murphy has been hired as a student affairs officer serving MPA and MS students. She has worked at the Humphrey Institute since 2005, supporting Ann Markusen and the MURP program, but she has a great deal of experience in academic advising, counseling, and student services. Katherine has an M.A. in counseling with an emphasis in college student personnel.

Rebecca Wienbar will join Katherine as a student affairs officer serving MPP and MURP students. Rebecca has several years experience advising undergraduate students, law students, and graduate students, most recently as an adviser to transfer students in the University's College of Liberal Arts. She earned her M.A. in geography from the Maxwell School at Syracuse University.
