Dawn Fish and Anne Mason selected as policy fellows

Two Humphrey Institute employees have been selected to take part in the Center for the Study of Politics and Governance's Policy Fellows program for the 2009-2010 year: chief development director Dawn Fish and assistant director of communications Anne Mason.

Fish is chief development officer for the Humphrey Institute. She has 20 years experience in professional fundraising, having served as executive director of the John T. Petters Foundation; vice president of institutional advancement for Scholarship America; development director for the Schulze Diabetes Institute here at the Minnesota Medical Foundation, and two social service nonprofits as well. She holds a master's degree in organizational leadership from the College of St. Catherine and a bachelor's degree in communications from Metropolitan State University, and has served on several nonprofit boards, including the local chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.

Mason works with media and in communications for the Humphrey Institute. Previously, she worked at the Financial Services Volunteer Corps, a nonprofit organization in New York that helps establish effective financial services in emerging market countries around the world. Mason has also worked in various political positions in Washington, D.C., as a presidential appointee at the U.S. Treasury, in political advertising, on campaigns and as communications director for a Minnesota Congressman. Mason holds a B.A. in politics from Drake University.
