Senior Fellow Harry Boyte will participate in “A Knock at Midnight: Remembering the Radical Nonviolent Struggle of Dr. King” at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 3, at Calvary Baptist Church, at 26th Street and Blaisdell Avenue in Minneapolis. Boyte was a field secretary for the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC), a civil rights organization originally led by Martin Luther King, Jr. The program is part of a remembrance celebration honoring the 40th anniversary of the assassination of King. The Wilder Foundation will host a mini-conference on “The ABCs of Early Learning in Low-income, Urban Neighborhoods” from 8:30 a.m. to noon on Thursday, April 10, at the Wilder Center in St. Paul. Richard Chase, Wilder research consultant, will present key findings from a new Wilder report on early learning conditions among low-income families with young children.
