Leveling the Playing Field: Expanding Minority Business Opportunities

December 3, 8 a.m.--2 p.m. | Humphrey Center

The Humphrey School of Public Affairs' Roy Wilkins Center for Human Relations and Social Justice and the Springboard Economic Development Corporation will cosponsor a half-day conference on numerous tactics--legislative and otherwise--for improving the state of minority businesses from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on December 3 at the Humphrey Center. The conference will feature a keynote address by Richard A. Marcantonio, managing attorney for Public Advocates Inc., a nonprofit law firm in San Francisco that earlier this year won an unprecedented victory against Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART), a rail system that proposed to build a three-mile, half-billion dollar line from a high-minority and high-poverty community in East Oakland to the Oakland Airport.
