Mapping Local Food Producers

The State and Local Policy Program will host another in its brown bag discussion series on Wednesday, Mary 23, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. in the Stassen Room at the Humphrey Center. Jeffrey Corn, community program specialist at the University's Center for Urban and Regional Affairs (CURA) will moderate a talk called "Mapping local foods producers." The University of Minnesota's Regional Sustainable Development Partnerships developed an interactive map of aspects of the local foods system in Minnesota, where users can highlight producers, processors, and organizations. This discussion will include an overview of the technical aspects of mapping, use of mapping tools, and feature graduate student Andrew Sheppard, Greg Schweser of the Regional Sustainable Development Partnerships, and Linda Kingery of the Regional Sustainable Development Partnership.
