New assistant city planner emphasizes development

Humphrey Institute student Annika Schilke accepted the role of assistant city planner and economic development specialist for Urbandale, Iowa.

As a research assistant at the University of Minnesota, Schilke conducted a study on transportation and job growth. She also completed a capstone project on cluster development, which addresses environmental issues. Urbandale will benefit greatly from Schilke's experience, said Paul Dekker, director of community development for Urbandale
