Eric Ostermeier provides analysis on delegation seniority as Indiana's Congressman plans to retire.

With Burton's departure, only one Indiana member of the U.S. House who is seeking re-election -- Rep. Pete Visclosky, D-Merrillville -- will have served more than five years. Indiana currently ranks 21st in seniority based on the average number of years served by the delegation, according to Minnesota political scientist Eric Ostermeier, who tracks delegation seniority.
