Joe Soss' new book is the subject of conversation in Australian and Austrian classrooms.

The Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research's Sanford Schram spent much of the winter holiday traveling abroad, at the invitation of two universities in Austria and one in Australia. During these visits, Schram spoke about his new book, Disciplining the Poor: Neoliberal Paternalism and the Persistent Power of Race, co-authored with Joe Soss and Richard Fording and published by the University of Chicago Press in the fall of 2011.
