James Carroll: Average House tenure may surprise

Eric Ostermeier provides analysis on tenure lengths of lawmakers.

The widespread public perception is that politicians stay in office too long. Well, a look at the average tenure of members of the U.S. House of Representatives provides some useful and counter-intuitive perspective. You also may be surprised to see that the Kentucky and Indiana delegations historically have not been among the longer-staying lawmakers.
