In Minnesota, Obama's support for gay marriage spurs debate on proposed amendment to ban it

Larry Jacobs predicts that gay marriage will not be a top issue for voters in November.

Larry Jacobs, a political science professor at the University of Minnesota's Humphrey School of Public Affairs, said, "I think when November rolls around, this won't be one of the top issues voters are going to care about." Still, Jacobs agreed the issue could energize the coalition of supporters that helped Obama into the White House.
