Sarah Hobbie, Kristen Nelson and Jeannine Cavender-Bares have been awarded a grant from the National Science Foundation Macrosystems Biology program to test the hypothesis that urbanization throughout the United States has led to a homogenization of ecological structure and function in cities compared to surrounding regions. Their work is part of a larger, multi-institution collaboration led by Peter Groffman at the Carey Institute of Ecosystem Studies.
