Heidi Peterson joins TCHEP team

Heidi Peterson, a recent PhD graduate from the University of Minnesota's Department of Bioproducts & Biosystems Engineering, accepted a Post-Doctoral Research Associate position with the TCHEP team.

Heidi has an interdisciplinary background with a BS degree in Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences and MS degree in Pedology and Land Use, both from Purdue University. Prior to pursuing a PhD, Heidi was employed as an environmental consultant, where she worked on a variety of projects ranging from wetland mitigation to groundwater remediation. Her dissertation from the University of Minnesota focused on quantifying the renewable flux of the freshwater system using landscape characteristics.

Applying her background in agriculture together with her experience using a systems approach to address current environmental issues, Heidi's TCHEP research focus will include quantifying how household food consumption within the Twin Cities affects the flux of Phosphorus and Nitrogen.
