School of Baseball?

When discussing globalization and industrialization impact on sports you don't have to go much further than Major League Baseball. These two things have impacted baseball by going beyond American soil. Major league teams have schools in other countries where they pick up kids from surrounding cities and villages to train these foreign players to become baseball stars.
Another example of globalization and industrialization impact is seen in the academic light. Universities are now offering more specific majors for students interested in sports. The business, coaching, administration and health sides of sports all have their own majors. Some thing that was not true 50 years ago.
