American Journalism Historians Association Award
Amount: $500
The annual AJHA Award for Excellence in Teaching honors a college or university teacher who excels at teaching in the areas of journalism and mass communication history, makes a positive impact on student learning, and offers an outstanding example for other educators.

John F. Kennedy Library Foundation Internship
Graduate or undergraduate students may apply for various John F. Kennedy Library Foundation awards paid archival internships each year to undergraduate and graduate students majoring in history, government, archival administration, library science, English, journalism, communications and other related disciplines.
The library requires that interns make a minimum commitment of 12 hours per week. Interns are paid at the rate of $12.50 per hour. The library will also consider proposals for unpaid internships, independent study projects, work-study employment, and internships undertaken for academic credit.

Available to new faculty, investigators, or Ph.D. students. Most fellowship terms are for one year, the program will consider requests for shorter or longer durations. Slight preference is given to applications for full-time fellowships, but the program will consider applicants who can only work part-time on their projects. The program encourages submissions from applicants with families and will work with fellows to devise a schedule that meets their needs and the program's expectations. Full-time fellows based in the United States will receive a stipend of $80,000 or $100,000.

The Nation Institute, in conjunction with The Nation magazine, has provided an internship program for college students and recent graduates interested in magazine journalism and publishing. The Nation Institute, a nonprofit media center, is dedicated to extending the reach of progressive values and strengthening the independent press.

William Woo Print and Online Internship Grant
The grants are intended to support students that have a serious interest in pursuing a career in print or online journalism by helping them to defray living costs. Applicants must (1) be committed to AAJA's mission; (2) have a serious interest in pursuing a career in print or online journalism, (3) be full-time college students or recent college graduates, and (4) have already secured a 2013 summer internship at a print or online news outlet before applying for this internship grant.

Theodore C. Sorensen Research Fellowship
The Sorensen Fellowship carries a stipend of up to $3,600. The estimated per diem cost of accommodations, meals, and incidentals for Boston is $225 to perform research at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum.
The fellowship is intended to support a scholar in the production of a substantial work in the areas of domestic policy, political journalism, polling, press relations, or a related topic. The successful candidate will develop at least a portion of her or his work from original research in archival materials from the collections of the John F. Kennedy Library. Preference is given to projects not supported by large grants from other institutions.

E - The Environmental Magazine E Magazine
Unpaid internship located in Connecticut for undergraduate or graduate students from
m any school. Interns work on editorial aspects of the magazine. Intern duties include - writing, researching, and fact-checking editorial content; updating content on E's website and social media pages; and doing web based research.

The Radcliffe Institute Fellowship Program is a scholarly community where individuals pursue advanced work across a wide range of academic disciplines, professions, and creative arts. Radcliffe Institute fellowships are designed to support scholars, scientists, artists, and writers of exceptional promise and demonstrated accomplishment who wish to pursue work in academic and professional fields and in the creative arts. In recognition of Radcliffe's historic contributions to the education of women and to the study of issues related to women, the Radcliffe Institute sustains a continuing commitment to the study of women.
Stipends are funded up to $70,000 for one year with additional funds for project expenses. Some support for relocation expenses is provided where relevant.

The Searle Freedom Trust is primarily interested in supporting domestic public policy research. Recognizing that good policymaking relies on the availability of high-quality research, the foundation invests primarily in scholarship that results in the publication of books, journal articles, and policy papers. Funding is typically provided in the form of research grants, fellowships, and other types of targeted project support. The Searle Freedom Trust also provides funding for public interest litigation and supports outreach to the public through a variety of forums, including sponsorship of research conferences and seminars, film and journalism projects, and new media initiatives.
