Music at the State Fair

Wondering what to do between Pronto Pups and deep fried eelpout-on-a-stick?

Here are a couple of ideas to get your feet tapping at the "Great Minnesota Get Together"

Check out the free stage at the International Bazaar or other State Fair Freestage offerings.

Follow along with the Amateur Talent Contest Semi-Finals 6 p.m. nightly at the Leinie Lodge Bandshell. Schedule of performers and previous evenings results posted daily.

4-H Fun! Check out the 4-H Fair Schedule for Share the Fun and other performances on the Harkness Hall and Erickson Hall Stages in the 4-H building.

For general State Fair entertainment info, including Grandstand entertainment, try the official State Fair entertainment page.

Enjoy!

I think these last two entries have been great. While watching the Oympics and hearing our national anthem, I have wondered about some of the gutsy moves taken in the harmonization and orchestration of The Star Spangled Banner (oh I hope I didn't spell that wrong!). I also think this latest link is great for many reasons. 1 is that it is so informative and lets me know what is going on, and 2 I feel that it takes away from the Classical Music-Academic monopoly and shows that academic units such as the library can also see the value of popular music.

Thanks Much!
