Proms 2004

Listen online to the Proms 2004, "the world's greatest classical music festival." The Proms, which began 16 July and runs through 11 September, features over 70 concerts at the Royal Albert Hall. These concerts are also broadcast live on BBC Radio 3. Selected concerts are available for on-demand listening up to seven days from broadcast date. Online program notes are available, as are links to information, a mailing list and message board.

Music at the State Fair

Wondering what to do between Pronto Pups and deep fried eelpout-on-a-stick?

4-H Fun! Check out the 4-H Fair Schedule for Share the Fun and other performances on the Harkness Hall and Erickson Hall Stages in the 4-H building.

Online Audiovisual Catalogers biennial meeting, 1-3 October 2004, Montreal

Keynote speakers include Allyson Carlyle and Guy Teasdale; sessions are devoted to cataloging music scores, cartographic materials on CD-ROM, still and moving images, unpublished oral history materials, and videorecordings, the future of the GMD [general material designation], and form/genre terminology. Music Library Association Midwest Chapter annual meeting, 7-9 October 2004, St. Louis

New Relator Codes

From the MARC TECHNICAL NOTICE (July 27, 2004):

Additions to the MARC Code Lists for Relators, Sources, Description
Conventions


Network Development and MARC Standards Office
Library of Congress


The relator codes listed below have recently been approved for use in MARC
21 records. The new codes will be added to the online MARC Codes Lists for
Relators, Sources, Description Conventions. The codes should not be used
until after September 27, 2004.

MARC Relator Codes Additions:
cng- Cinematographer [use only after September 27, 2004]
vdg - Videographer [use only after September 27, 2004]
