Diversity Update

I have almost finished both the long and short version of the Diversity video. I need to add some music, check the audio levels, and make sure my photos do not zoom in and out too fast. I'm happy with the piece so far and I think it does a good job showing diversity not only on campus but Duluth and the world in general. It's been fun so far!

Senior Show

For my senior show I am going to include the following videos:

I did all of the editing and shooting and everything, and I think it is one of my best pieces.

The two parts of 1325: Home of the Arch
One part is about what makes a house a home, and the other is how the house came to be and the residences living there and why they like it.

Sorry for Party Rockin
My first rotoscope where I experimented with a new technique of rotoscope.

And my Nerf Gun war that is also rotoscoped if I can get it completed by then. In addition I am going to take over the big gallery spot outside ABAH the show case and display all of my stills from this 30 second film. (Overall it is 260 pictures) and I will have the film going as well. So it is kind of an online exhibit with a branch to show in person for the students as well.

As well as I may enter either my long or short version of Diversity that I have been working on for the Multicultural Center and my Independent Study class.

Stock Footage

I am having difficulties getting good stock footage fo different individuals. I have taken many at school of both still and moving images. However, I need more. I have reached out to my friends on facebook and hope to be able to gain more photos. In addition, I have talked to a department on campus in hope of stock footage over the years. I plan to contact the head of the Multicultural Center as well.

Second Interview

My second interview was of one of my roommates; Chelsey Cannata. She had such insight and good choice of words to describe how people think of diversity not only on campus but in the world. She talks about what makes her different and unique. She did an excellent job and I can't wait to start editing and shooting more footage to place over her words. I think it will be a wonderful addition to the long version of the film.

Completed first interview of me to add into the video. Now just need to capture and figure out which footage I want to add while I'm talking as well. For each interview I will ask at least theses questions:

1. What is your full name?
2. What is your major and what school do you go to?
3. What do you want to do when you "grow up"?
4. What year are you?
5. What is your heritage?
6. Does your last name stand for anything else?
7. Where are you from?
8. What makes you unique/diverse from others?
9. What are your hobbies?
10. What are traditions of your family?
11. What are traditions that your family has because of your heritage?
12. How does your heritage effect you today and your choices?
13. How do you think the diversity here on campus is?
14. How do you think the diversity in the world is?
15. How can we make it better?
16. Were you born here?
17. If not, where you born?
18. Where were your parents born?
19. Anything else you would like to add?

In addition to the questions I will kind of just go with the flow of what we are talking about and later edit out anything not important. That is the plan thus far.
I have my next interview lined up.
