Hey You! Bring Your Mug :|

Coffee, tea, or M.E.? (Mother Earth, that is!) When you're going to a meeting where you know beverages will be served, take your own mug along instead of using a disposable cup (and be sure to smile!).

Our Grandmothers Did It, So Can We! Reuse Cards

How many times have you received a card that you think a friend may enjoy too? How can we begin to pass on the fun? When in the spirit of sending a card rather than write directly on the card insert your comments on a separate sheet of paper (recycled of course) or a recipe card and encourage the receiver to reuse the actual card then the fun can be shared over and over again. Direct Marketing Association

Another great resource to reduce unwanted advertising, direct mail, etc. DMA's Mail Preference Service (MPS) is the Official Mail Preference Service for the Catalog and Direct Marketing community supported by the United States Postal Service. It will allow you to get off of mailing lists and to remove your name from DMA Member Prospect Lists. And guess what? It only costs 1 dollar.

Opt - Out

This is cool - if you haven't done it yet you should give it a shot:

Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), the Consumer Credit Reporting Companies are permitted to include your name on lists used by creditors or insurers to make firm offers of credit or insurance that are not initiated by you ("Firm Offers"). The FCRA also provides you the right to "Opt-Out", which prevents Consumer Credit Reporting Companies from providing your credit file information for Firm Offers.

Through the Opt-Out website, you may request to:

Opt-Out from receiving Firm Offers for Five Years - (electronically through this website).

Opt-Out from receiving Firm Offers permanently - (mail Permanent Opt-Out Election form available through this website).

Opt-In and be eligible to receive Firm Offers. This option is for consumers who have previously completed an Opt-Out request - (electronically through this website).

If you choose to Opt-Out, you will no longer be included in firm offer lists provided by these four consumer credit reporting companies.

Dining Services Composts!

Hey, did you know that Dining Services is collecting compost-able wastes in Coffman? I was amazed the other day when I was approached by a green-shirt wearing staff person asking for my plastic cup (corn-resin or something) to compost! See more about Organic Composting.
