Ending Homelessness - Meeting #2

The big news from our second meeting, held on May 4, 2007, is that service providers have decided to hold the first ever Project Youth Connect on August 13th, 2007. We discussed ideas for faculty and student participation in this event, as well as the next Project Homeless Connect event to be held on October 1, 2007. A game-plan is in the works and will be posted soon!

Hennepin-University Collaboration to End Homelessness

On March 22nd, 2007, a group of faculty and students convened to learn about Heading Home Hennepin, the recently approved ten year plan to end homelessness in Minneapolis and Hennepin County. Following a presentation by Cathy ten Broeke, City-County Corrdinator on Homelessness, and Gail Dorfman, Hennepin County Commissioner, individuals shared stories of what is being done across various schools within the University and discussed future opportunities for collaboration.

The group will reconvene on May 4th to further develop plans for collaboration.
