As mentioned in our meeting, Commissioner Gail Dorfman occassionaly needs assistance determining the credibility of research that comes accross her desk.

Update on Hennepin-University Collaboration to End Homelessness

On March 22nd, 2007, a group of faculty and students convened to learn about Heading Home Hennepin, the recently approved ten year plan to end homelessness in Minneapolis and Hennepin County. Following a presentation by Cathy ten Broeke, City-County Corrdinator on Homelessness, and Gail Dorfman, Hennepin County Commissioner, individuals shared stories of what is being done across various schools within the University and discussed future opportunities for collaboration.

The group will reconvene on May 4th to further develop plans for collaboration.

Homeless in Minnesota: Results from the October 2006 study

The Wilder Perspectives Series, which provides an opportunity to explore how research expertise and years of experience in direct service can combine to improve our communities, will be presenting the findings from their most recent study of homelessness in Minnesota on April 10 at the University of Minnesota's Continuing Education and Conference Center (1890 Buford Avenue, Saint Paul).
