Director of Division of Global Pediatrics, Chandy John, M.D., has been awarded one of three scholars awards from the Department of Pediatrics. The award will fund a study that has the potential to improve the lives of millions of children who suffer from malaria by defining population-based immune profiles that define risk of malaria and providing evidence for the role of malaria elimination in reduction of childhood anemia. Research will be conducted at his already-established lab in Kenya.
