Judith Eckerle was quoted in a special edition of Latitude, a news blog based in Cambridge, MA. Dr. Eckerle sees patients in the University of Minnesota Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders Clinic.
Dr. Eckerle said, "The symptoms of FASD can be hard to recognize. A lot of times they can look like other well-known disorders like ADHD. (Children with FASD) can also be very literal minded. It's a little like the children's book 'Amelia Bedelia.' When you say, 'draw the blinds,' they might sit down and draw a picture of the blinds."
The feature, titled "The toll of Russian vodka on American families" ran September 27, 2012.
