Burgenland Bunch Summer Meeting and Picnic

Our Burgenland Bunch summer meeting and picnic is scheduled for Sunday, August 14, 2011. We will meet at the German American Institute, 301 Summit Avenue, St. Paul.


Organized by Minnesota Hungarians
Featuring Düvö Ensemble from Hungary (4 musicians and 2 professional folk dancers & instructors). A week of family friendly events and activities. Come enjoy the award-winning presentation of authentic folk music and folk dances of Hungarians and other ethnics of the Carpathians.

Book Sale and Annual Picnic

What: Book Sale

When: Saturday, August 20, 9:00 - 2:00 p.m.

Where: 1185 Concord Street North, South Saint Paul in the First Floor Auditorium

The sale will feature many books that MGS and other groups affiliated with MGS have deemed "extra" or that are already in our permanent collection.

There is a large variety of books of the following:

  • military histories
  • specific states
  • studies
  • directories
  • histories
a ton of genealogical books that will add to your own genealogical collection. MGS and the affiliated groups are very excited about the sale so we expect it to be very good indeed. If you have books to sell, bring them to the MGS Building before August 20, or on the morning of the 20th. We will try to sell any books you bring. This is our first time holding this kind of sale, so come with cash ready to buy as you are bound to pick up a number of bargains, as well as books that will help you in your genealogical searches. Czechoslovak Genealogical Society International (CGSI)

Quarterly Program at Minnesota Genealogy Society (MGS) Auditorium Saturday 10 September 2011.

This program will feature an overview of resources available to genealogists through the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, commonly called the Mormon Church. Resources are available on-line through the FamilySearch website, at local Family History Centers, and the Family History Library in Salt Lake City, UT. (This program will also help participants prepare for the CGSI symposium to be held 16 - 17 March, 2012 in Salt Lake City, UT.)
