2008 Multimedia News Producers Workshop CANCELED

The workshop, which was scheduled for August 20-23, has been canceled.

Due to lack of enrollment, the 2008 Multimedia News Producers workshop has been canceled. The 2008 edition was to be the third annual hands-on training event for new media production in a newsroom setting. The Institute extends its gratitude and apologies to those who registered for the workshop. Please stay tuned for information about future workshop opportunities.

Future for News Libraries

Is there one? Special Library Association panel pondered the question

The dreary economic conditions in news organizations have particularly impacted news libraries. More and more libraries are down to a very few people and many fear being closed altogether. At the Special Libraries Asscoiation Annual Conference in Seattle, Wash., Nora Paul was on this panel and examined what the opportunities are for news libraries to revitalize themselves.

Games for Change (G4C)

Journalism, Games and Civic Engagement panel

The 2008 Games for Change (G4C) conference was held on June 2-4 in New York City. Nora Paul was a panelist on Journalism, Games and Civic Engagement exploring the issues and challenges of the emerging interest and intersection of journalism in social issue games and civic engagement.
