Usability Lab Open House

If you haven't paid a visit to the usability lab in Walter Library, here's a great opportunity. From the e-mail announcement:

This Thursday, January 19, we will hold another Usability Lab Open House, at 9:30 - 11:30 a.m.. This is intended to give faculty, staff, students, and outside visitors an opportunity to tour the Usability Services Lab at the University of Minnesota.

If you're looking for information about the lab or usability consulting, or you'd like to see a demo, please drop by:

Date: Thursday, January 19, 2006
Time: 9:30 - 11:30 a.m.
Location: B-26 Walter Library on the Minneapolis campus (see http://web.umn.edu/Webteam/usability/usabilityDirections.html for lab location and directions)

Usability Services' objective is to help teams design the user interface for information presented on a computer to be as intuitive and easy-to-use as possible. The usability lab provides an environment in which project teams are able to see their proposed designs from a user's perspective. Usability Services offers usability testing and other services to both enterprise-level and collegiate/departmental project teams at the University. We utilize screen capture, video, audio, and eye-tracking tools and equipment in the lab.

Please pass this invitation along to anyone who might be interested. Visitors may stop by anytime during the 9:30 - 11:30 a.m. timeframe, and I'll be happy to show the lab and talk about our usability services.

Thanks very much!
