Prof. Leon Tikly, Director of the EdQual Research Programme and Director of Research in the Graduate School of Education, University of Bristol, will give a public lecture on "Social Justice and the Quality of Education in Africa." This talk will provide a critique of dominant human capital and rightsâbased approaches for researching the quality of education in low income countries. An alternative, context-led framework based on social justice principles will be explained in relation to three intersecting contexts, namely policy, school, and home/community.
