even_the_rain.jpgWhat brings people together better than food and film? Food and film and IPID members! You're invited to IPID's first potluck and movie night of the semester, a great occasion to spend Friday night with good company and thought-provoking discussion (and, of course, some fun).

The feature film, "TambiƩn la lluvia (Even the rain)," meshes historical narrative with turbulent current events through a story about a filmmaker's desire to finish a controversial film about Spanish imperialism in Latin America even as the present-day local population fights political forces depriving them of water. Set in Cochabamba, Bolivia, the film is based upon the struggle against the privatization of water in Bolivia in 2000.

This event is BYOB, and feel free to bring food to share. Friends of friends are also warmly invited!
