I'm Yu Meng, from Beijing, China. It is my second year of being a Master student at the University of Minnesota, majoring in "Comparative and International Development Education" at the College of Education and Human Development (CEHD).
I deeply value this great opportunity of being a mentor of all the international students to help you better and faster adjust your new life at the "U of M", and also in the United States.
There are tons of fun things awaiting you to explore here in Minnesota. One of them is the Cross-country Skiing, which is absolutely the thing you would not want to miss out! Since probably down-hill skiing is more common in your country, it would be a totally fresh and more thrilling experience if you try the cross-country skiing--surrounded by all those big trees and lovely cabins as well as being so close to the nature!
Another fun place I'd like to recommend is the Valleyfair, which is an amusement park located southwest of the Twin Cities, and is famous for its various roller-coasters and a water park within it. You would definitely forget all your worries and concerns and just scream as loud as you can while taking a ride. When you are tired of shouting out loud, the water park (called the "Soak City") serves just as the perfect place for you to "cool down" a little bit and to enjoy those "bikini beauties"!
Last, I just want to quote a sentence from a friend of mine to all of you--"There is no growth in comfort zone, and no comfort in growth zone!" Thus don't be shy or afraid of asking whatever questions you may have. I will always be right here and waiting to help you out!
