The University's Amundson Hall, home to IPRIME & the Chemical Engineering and Materials Science Department, has received significant private funding for a 40,000-square-foot addition. Robert and Jane Gore have donated $10 million for the project. Gore is a U alumnus and inventor of the GORE-TEX®. Last year the Dow Chemical Company gave a $5 million gift towards the expansion. It will help meet the department's increasing need for research and classroom space.
