2014 Annual Meeting Poster Winners

Congratulations to our Annual Meeting Poster Competition winners! Over 100 participants displayed their research during our Poster Session at the McNamara Alumni Center on May 28, 2014. Each winner was selected for their outstanding presentation by a panel of IPrime industrial and faculty judges. The poster award includes a $200 stipend.

Kechun Zhang Awarded Samsung Global Research Outreach Grant

Ketchun Zhang, a faculty member of IPrime's Biocatalysis and Biotechnology Technology program, was awarded a grant for his "Engineering a Metabolic Platform for Biosynthesis of Branched Biochemicals" proposal. It was one of only two winning grants in the field of metabolic engineering.

Professor Timothy Lodge named Regents Professor

Professor Timothy P. Lodge has been named a Regents Professor by the University of Minnesota Board of Regents. Established in 1965 by the Board of Regents to recognize the national and international prominence of faculty members, the Regents Professorship is the highest honor the University of Minnesota bestows on its faculty. Revolutionary Membrane Tech Research


membrane2.pngThe University of MN has been awarded a $1.8 million grant over three years from the Department of Energy's Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy (ARPA-E) to develop revolutionary membrane technology that will enable energy-efficient separations in the chemical, petrochemical, water, fossil fuel, and renewable energy industries.
