Plasmonic Forces in Nanoscale Metal Clusters Talk

batson.png On April 8, 2013, 4-5pm, the Center for Nanostructure Applications (CNA) is hosting a talk by Dr. Philip Batson of the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Rutgers University. Dr. Batson will present a talk titled "Plasmonic Forces in Nanoscale Metal Clusters: Playing Nano-Billiards with the Electron Microscope" in Walter Library, Room 402.

Gore-Tex Inventor & Dow Chemical Contribue $15M to Amundson Hall Addition


The University's Amundson Hall, home to IPRIME & the Chemical Engineering and Materials Science Department, has received significant private funding for a 40,000-square-foot addition. Robert and Jane Gore have donated $10 million for the project. Gore is a U alumnus and inventor of the GORE-TEX®. Last year the Dow Chemical Company gave a $5 million gift towards the expansion. It will help meet the department's increasing need for research and classroom space.

Macosko Receives Lifetime Achievement Award
