There is still space available in the spring semester class Management of Technology (MOT) 4001: Leadership, Professionalism and Business Basics for Engineers. This two-credit class meets Thursdays, 3:35-5:30 p.m. in Mechanical Engineering, Room 221.

There is still space available for students to sign up for the May Session 2009 Institute of Technology Global Seminars. The college is offering five different seminars to Italy, Turkey, China, Switzerland, and Scandinavia. There is no language prerequisite, and the seminar dates do not interfere with spring semester or summer session. Financial aid can be used. Scholarships are available.

Undergraduate students who are potentially failing a course may want to consider using their One-Time-Only Late Drop to withdraw from that course by Dec. 10 and receive a "W" on their transcript. Using this One-Time-Only Late Drop requires a meeting with an Institute of Technology academic advisor during walk-in hours in Lind Hall, room 128.
The U of M Formula SAE Team would like to invite fellow Institute of Technology students to an upcoming design lecture by Tom Glennan, an engineering group manager at General Motors. The lecture is Tuesday, Dec. 9, 7 p.m. in the Tate Laboratory of Physics, Room 150.
Hear from University of Minnesota alumni about their careers and paths to success at a free event on Thursday, Dec. 4, 4:30-6 p.m. in the Civil Engineering Building, Room 212. The panel includes alumni working at Medtronic, Boston Scientific, General Mills, and the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
The student application for the Honeywell Innovators Scholarship Program is now available on the Honeywell Web site. The application deadline is Monday, Dec. 1, 2008.
All undergraduate engineering students in Minnesota are invited to apply for the Minnesota Society of Professional Engineers scholarship opportunities. Students must have at least sophomore status for this school year and be studying engineering. The application deadline is Dec. 3.
