Develop a mobile app, win a prize

There's an app for that...or is there?

Do you have an idea for a mobile app? Are you willing to see your idea through and actually launch a new app? The University of Minnesota student Mobile App Challenge is back for a second year to give you the opportunity to do just that. Students imagine and pitch ideas for a mobile app, and then over the course of two semesters, work in teams to develop the app. Prizes include iPads for the winning team, and iPods for runners up.

To help you get started, attend an informational kick-off event, where you will learn what is expected from your app and how to effectively pitch your idea.

University of Minnesota Student App Challenge Kick-off
Monday, Oct. 8, 2012
5:30 p.m. - Free pizza
6-8 p.m. - Information Meeting
Walter Library, Room 101

The information meeting will include more information about the challenge, and answer your questions about how you can take your idea to the next level.

If you are unable to attend in person, you can follow along online via UMConnect at umconnect.umn.edu/mobileapp.

Learn about last year's winning app and finalists, and view video footage on the 2012 Mobile App Challenge web page.

The Mobile App Challenge is sponsored by the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP) and the Office of Information Technology.
